113/365 – It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
toto africa lyrics

For Day 113 of 365. TRF, lyrics and maybe some cemetery thingy?

Please check out the cemetery shots here…I’ll be adding more throughout the day.

Today’s random fact: I spent a good three hours in Bonaventure Cemetery on my last day in Savannah (today). That place amazes me. You could spend days in there and never capture all the beauty. Or you can spend three hours in there and accidentally chop your head off in a selfie. Oops.

Photos from the trip to come. (Well, more anyway.) I’m home now. I don’t want to be. I want to be back there. *sigh*

*****
Today’s song is "Africa" by Toto. BUT I don’t like the Toto version much. I adore the version done by an a Capella group from the University of Maryland called the Faux Paz (yes, with a z). If you’d like to hear it, I can email you a file.

I hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She’s coming in 12:30 flight
The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
I stopped an old man along the way
Hoping to find some long forgotten words or ancient melodies
He turned to me as if to say, "Hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you"

It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what’s right
Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what’s deep inside, frightened of this thing that I’ve become

It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had

Hurry boy, she’s waiting there for you

It’s gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There’s nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa, I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
