Ghosts of Saturday Night #1
saturday night lyrics

A long exposure, inspired by the Tom Waits song. Nottingham Lace Market last Saturday night. Fits Tom’s lyrics perhaps: "…Paws his inside P-coat pocket
for a welcome twenty-five cents,
And the last bent butt from a package of Kents, As he dreams of a waitress with Maxwell House eyes And marmalade thighs with scrambled yellow hair."

Tryin’ to rake in that last night’s fare…"
A cab taken on a very long exposure. Nottingham Lace Market.

Thanks to Tom Waits’s the Ghosts of Saturday Night for inspiration.

saturday night lyrics

I’m always nervous playing a new Counting Crows album, always worried that I’ll hate their latest stuff.

I needn’t have been with this; it’s CC doing what they do best. Angst Rock ;op It got torn apart by Irish music reviewers for being too morose, what the hell were they expecting, Celine Dion?? Just to note, its not particularly morose, its fairly uplifting by previous album standards. Wonderfully written lyrics as usual by Duritz and just some really good rock melodies.

There are a number of references to Dublin and Ireland within the lyrics, which to my knowledge, is a nice first :o )

Roll on July! They play twice in Dublin, I cannae wait!!!
