San Rafael, CA (PRWEB) May 09, 2015
The second of this series of 5 Saturday night outdoor concerts with dinners, cocktails, picnics, dancing, Kid Zone, and more brings the most recognized name in Hawaiian music, HAPA, and their always popular sounds of hypnotic, liquid guitar runs woven around clear, tenor Hawaiian vocals and immaculate harmonies driven by poetic lyrics exulting in the rapture of paradise: Hawaii.
This trios overriding musical quality is one of passion, beauty and serenity that is found in the majestic tones of the oli (chant), mele (song), and the innovative sounds of virtuoso guitar performances. If Maui were music, it would sound like HAPA. Rolling Stone Japan recently described them as Titans of the Genre
Let Hawaiis hottest group take you away for a one night island vacation.
The evening will open with a Hula dance performance and lesson offered from Halau Hula Na Pua O Ka Laakea, and they will continue to perform throughout the night.
The beautiful and safe Swig Field is surrounded by Marin hills and begs for picnicking, but will offer the choice of purchasing delicious as well as affordable meals on-site from San Rafaels own Mauna Loa Hawaiian BBQ pop-up Restaurant. No alcohol is allowed to be brought in, but is available for purchase.
The theme is Hawaiian Islands, and audience members are encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirts, or purchase one from Georgi & Willow’s pop-up shop offering island wear for purchase.
Ukulele enthusiast group UFOhana of Marin will be on site to let you know how you can join up!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay host the Kid Zone, offering up an art project alongside the playground for youngsters.
